Over the weekend I spent a lot of time becoming familiar with social bookmarking. I found out about this from the Thirty Day Challenge. Social bookmarking involves sites that you have already heard of, such as, Twitter, Digg, Propeller, Technorati, etc. There is a great site that allows you to go through the process of submitting to many of these sites in one sitting. The site is called Social Marker. I recommend it (it is a free service). I submitted the two articles that I had written on eHow with Social Marker and the results were quite interesting. Both articles have been available since early November. Between this two articles I had 89 page visits up until this past Saturday night. I submitted the two articles through Social Marker just before midnight. At 7 am on Sunday morning I checked and the visits to the two articles now stood at 167. It took nearly two weeks to get 89 visits and only 7 – 8 hours to get the next 78 visits. That is the power of social bookmarking.
I also checked to see if my sites had been indexed by Google. You can do this by typing in “site:” followed by the name of your site (ex. site: dollaradayonline.com). All of the sites are indexed but one. You can view a sample search from below.
Now I am not exactly sure why the one site did not show up but I am guessing it has something to do with the life of the site and number of posts. This site has been “alive” since Nov. 2nd. The other sites have only been in existence for one week. I hope I can get the remaining site indexed in the next week or so.
I also ordered three more domains. I buy them at GoDaddy and then have to point them to my HostGator account. As of this writing, I have installed WordPress on the sites but have not done anything else. The new sites are Muscle To Die For, Build Large Muscles, and Get Big and Ripped. I wanted these to promote a few affiliate products in the bodybuilding arena. I guess tomorrow I should show you a list of all the affiliate products that I have signed up with. Until then take care.
